Profile

Felicity Keefe was born and grew up in Devon. She studied Art Foundation at South Devon College and then went on to Brighton University to study the subject at degree level, graduating three years later with a BA Hons. After leaving university she began to exhibit and sell paintings in Brighton, London and the South East of England.

In 1993 she was asked to work as curator of exhibitions at First Light media centre, organising shows for both local and national artists. At the same time she was also working as a freelance arts journalist for Punter magazine in Sussex, interviewing artists and galleries, and writing articles on a monthly basis. During this period she continued to exhibit, showing in England and abroad, working to commission, and being featured and interviewed regularly in the media.

Felicity moved to Bath in 1996 where she studied for her FAETC at City of Bath College. This led to work as a part-time lecturer in painting and visual studies at the same College, where she still tutors within the fine art program area. The move back to the West Country also marked a significant development in her paintings. The subject matter now began to concentrate on the environment as an area of inspiration, a theme that evolved and became integral to her work in the coming years. Felicitys reputation as an abstract landscape artist continues to grow.

She was recently selected by arts writer Mathew Collings to show work in a group exhibition he curated and her work has been featured in such publications as the Guardian, the Sunday Express, Venue magazine and Evolver. She continues to exhibit extensively, with representation from a variety of galleries; Anthony Hepworth Fine Art, Six Chapel Row Contemporary Art, Byard, Art and recently the Cube Gallery.
