FINE ART COMMISSIONS

About commissions
Regardless of your budget and requirements, commissions can be a great option if you are looking for something unique. The majority of our artists offer a commissioning service and work alongside the gallery and buyer to produce a special one-off piece of work.

How to organise a commission
Working closely with the gallery the commissioning service works in four easy steps:
1. Meeting with the client to discuss initial requirements such as size, subject matter, colour, framing and choice of artist. We will then write up a submission to present to the artist and liaise with them about timing and cost.
2. With the artists and clients final agreement 50% of the final cost will be taken as a deposit payment.
3. We will continue to liaise with the artists during the commission process providing sketches and samples as appropriate. Any particular requests/concerns can, at this stage, be corrected.
4. A presentation of the commission between gallery, client and artist and final payment.

Price of a commission
Commission costs vary depending on the artist you choose. Most commissions will cost slightly more than a piece by the same artist for sale in the gallery. However, this not often too much more and is worth the extra as you will receive a personal service from the artist and the gallery.

Pet & Portrait Commissions
We work with various gallery artists who offer portrait commissions and pet portraits (for the very pampered pooch!). A family/pet portrait commission works in the same way as above but we will need photographic reference and perhaps a studio sitting. Please see the menu links for more information.
